Are you compatible for senior home care? | Fitness and Health Tips ...

An agency specializing in senior home care, will work with the client?s doctors and family members and helping the client to remain as independent and comfortable at home for as long as possible. Signing up with a local service doesn?t have to be a chore, but you do keep a few things in mind:

Don?t choose blindly. Do research on each and every care service you find. How long have they been providing care? Are they licensed or certified? Do they have a website where you can read other clients? reviews? How qualified are they to give medical care and to what degree? Will the agency provide you with employee references?

Don?t go with the cheapest option. Money is tight for everyone, but that doesn?t mean you should skimp on your loved one?s care. Some services offer only minimal care and that may not be enough for your situation.

At the same time, don?t just grab the most expensive company either. Just because they are a large company or charge a huge amount for care doesn?t mean that they are any better than the less costly one. Look at all the options to find which will be the best option for you and your parent.

Be thorough. Not all senior home care companies are the same. Be sure that the services your loved one needs is the same that the company can provide.

When in doubt ? ask! Now is not the time to be shy. Whether you are seeking services for yourself or someone else, you want to make sure that everyone is ?on the same page? and that there is no miscommunication among the parties involved. Some companies are willing to make changes to their policies if you just ask.

Finally, how do you expect to pay for these care services? Will you be paying the bill yourself or will a third party like Medicare, Medicaid, a health insurance company or even the Veterans Administration be paying? Some funding companies require specific things requirements. Be sure that your health care provider can meet these requirements.

Don?t forget the patient. Whether the patient is yourself, a friend or a loved one, be sure that they are comfortable with the arrangement you choose and the people who will be serving them. Senior home care should be quality care in the convenience and comfort of one?s home.
